CHIGNALL, Robert. The Life and Paintings of Vicat Cole. London, etc.: Cassell and Co., 1898. 3 vols., 4to (318 x 242mm.) Engraved portrait frontispiece, numerous plates and illustrations. (Toning, occasional crease to preliminaries.) Original green buckram, blind-tooled in an Art Nouveau design, gilt lettering to upper covers and spines, g.e. (rubbing to spine ends, numbering in ink to base of vol. 1). Provenance: East Sussex County Library (labels to pastedowns). - And a further fourteen volumes (including Samuel Johnson's 'Dictionary of the English Language', 2 vols., 1828, 4to) (17).
