(Browning to tissue-guards, occasional minor spotting to verso of plates.) Original vellum covers, gilt lettering to upper covers and spines (minor soiling). Provenance: Sir Charles Euan-Smith, soldier and diplomat (gift inscribed from him in ink on both front-free endpapers where he mentions that himself is one of the 'notable men' in volume 2); Edith Euan-Smith (gift inscribed to her in ink on the front-free endpapers); Philip Charles Euan-Belsan (gift inscribed to him in ink on the front-free endpapers) (2).
