POTTER, Beatrix. The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle. London: Frederick Warne and Co., 1905. First edition, deluxe issue, first or second printing, 16mo (139 x 102mm.) Colour frontispiece, black and white title vignette, 26 colour illustrations by Beatrix Potter. (Lacking front-free endpaper and half-title, upper joint split, rear with tape repair, tape repairs to first seven leaves, tear to one leaf, two small tears to preliminaries.) Original lilac cloth, pictorial label on upper cover, gilt lettering, g.e. (rubbing to extremities, pencil name to lower cover). Note: date on the title page and 'How Keld' on p.20. Provenance: Christopher and Susan Tod (ink name verso of frontispiece).
