LOT 3087
SALINGER, J.D. The Catcher in the Rye. Middlesex: Penguin Books, 1966. Reprint, signed by the author on the title page, 8vo (181 x 109mm.) (Browning, small nicks to margins of half-title and title.) Original card covers (crease to spine, some surface discolouring, rubbing to extremities). Note: signed by Salinger 'New York NY, March 15, 1975, with best wishes, J.D. Salinger'. Provenance: the book came from the vendor's father who was friends with Mr. Janos Domokos, a director of the Hungarian publishing company 'Európa Konyvkiadó', that published Catcher in the Rye in Hungary in 1974. The vendor's father met with Salinger. With acknowledgement and thanks to Salinger's biographer, Kenneth Slawenksi, for assisting with the cataloguing of this lot.
