An early Victorian needlework sampler, unnamed and undated, finely worked with a central verse surrounded by a large red brick house, a chapel, baskets of flowers, dogs and fruit trees, all within a strawberry border, the reverse bearing label inscribed 'Barking Museum 1/11/35 Mrs Devitt Via Howard', 41cm x 32cm, within a period gilt frame.
