An impressive Chinese famille rose porcelain figure of a smiling Buddha, 20th century, modelled in a seated pose, holding a sack and gilt bead necklace, wearing a colourfully enamelled robe, the front decorated with auspicious fruit clusters, flowerheads and gilt cash on a turquoise ground, the back with precious objects, shou medallions, cranes and bats amidst vapours on a yellow ground, open at the front to reveal his bare chest and bulging belly, impressed seal marks to base, height 60.5cm (overpainting/restoration to firing cracks and other minor faults).
