LOT 1150
A Victorian lacquered brass skeleton clock timepiece with single fusee movement, the silvered skeletonized chapter ring with black Gothic Roman hour numerals above a silvered plaque, inscribed 'Evans & Sons Soho Clock Factory Birmingham', the three frames of arabesque scroll form, height 36cm, with compensated pendulum, winding key, white marble oval stand and glass dome. Note: for an illustration of a similar arabesque framed skeleton clock by Evans of Handsworth, see page 154, figure 3/67 of 'Skeleton Clocks Britain 1800-1914' by Derek Roberts.
