WOODWARD, John. A Treatise on Heraldry, British and Foreign with English and French Glossaries. Edinburgh and London: W. & A.K. Johnston, 1896. 2 vols., limited edition, this being one of 325 copies, 8vo (221 x 139mm.) 66 plates, some in colour, tissue-guards. (Toning to margins.) Contemporary red half-morocco over buckram, gilt lettering to spine, t.e.g. (rubbing to extremities). Provenance: H. Vincent Whitelaw (bookplates to the front pastedowns). - And twenty-six further volumes, mostly on heraldry (including John Woodward's 'A Treatise on Ecclesiastical Heraldry', 1894, 8vo) (28).
