AULD, William (publisher). The Rudiments of Architecture; or, the Young Workman's Instructor. Edinburgh: William Auld, 1773. 4to (252 x 196mm.) 42 engraved plates, 4 folding, including 13 unnumbered designs for houses, a 'Builder's Dictionary' to rear. (Lacking 7 plates, minor soiling, short closed tears to several leaves.) Contemporary half-calf, red morocco lettering piece to the spine, gilt titling (rubbing to extremities). Note: scarce. Provenance: Alexander Mackay (ink name to front-free endpaper).
