A mid-Victorian Gothic Revival mahogany roll-top bureau bookcase with overall ebony stringing and tulipwood crossbanding, the fretwork pediment with ascending trefoils above a pair of doors, inset with gilt metal lattice grills, the bureau enclosing a pull-out writing surface above a pair of further doors enclosing drawers and shelves, raised on carved claw feet, height 244cm, width 118cm, depth 89cm.
