LOT 1147
A late 19th century French ormolu mounted slate and rouge marble table clock with perpetual calendar and moonphase, the eight day movement striking hours and half-hours on a bell, the backplate stamped 'J.B.D' in an oval and 'T. Boxell 43 Kings Road Brighton', the signed gilt circular dial with black Roman numerals and engine turned centre above a two-piece enamel calendar dial, annotated with months of the year to circumference, enclosing subsidiary day, date and moonphase, all framed with engraved foliate gilt borders and inset with a pair of porcelain panels, painted with Cupid and gilt scrolls on a puce ground, the slate case with rouge marble borders, surmounted with an ormolu tied ribbon bow, acanthus and oak surmount, on foliate scroll feet, height 45cm, with pendulum and winding key.
