LOT 3108
BETJEMAN, John. Collected Poems. London: John Murray, 1958. Signed by the author, 8vo (184 x 100mm.) (Mild toning.) Original brown cloth (lightly bumped). Note: inscribed to front free endpaper 'Inscribed for Jamie, colleague, and [sic] of Seeley Services & Co, Col. Shipton of Ward Lock and Major Murray of Albemarle St, with the good wishes and admiration of the elderly author of this book who subscribes himself Iain MacBetje (John Betjeman), 1970'. This rather florid inscription was written by Betjeman in pencil and, presumably, the recipient 'Jamie' was a publishing acquaintance, or lunching friend, or both.
