An 18th century English hanger with curved single-edged double-fullered blade, blade length 65.5cm, silver hilt, decorated with trophy of arms, hallmarked London 1777 with maker's mark probably for William Kinman, spiral carved green stained ivory grip, silvered metal lion's head pommel, with a silvered metal mounted leather scabbard, detailed 'Langford No. 50 Fleet Street' (scabbard in distressed condition). Note: William Kinman was one of the foremost makers of silver-hilted swords working in London during the latter half of the 18th century.
