A Japanese Satsuma earthenware vase, Meiji period, of high shouldered form, painted and gilt with a crane flying above irises opposing a pair of birds flying by bamboo, against a gilt overlaid cobalt blue ground, height 18.5cm (wear to gilding), together with a later pair of Japanese vases, height 24cm.
