A Chinese eight-fold 'coromandel' lacquered screen, probably late Kangxi period, one side finely carved and coloured with a central rectangular panel crossing over all eight folds, filled with a scene of figures at leisure in a rocky landscape with lotus pond, pavilions, trees and cranes, within a keyfret frame and border of birds and flowers, all against an incised fretwork iron red/brown ground, the reverse with a scene of the Boys' Festival with figures in and out of doors, pavilions, lotus pond, rocks and trees within a keyfret frame, the border filled with 'Hundred Antiques' motifs, one incorporating a four character mark, height 211.5cm, total length 336cm (some faults and repairs).
