A pair of Southern Chinese inlaid export bronze plates, 19th century, each wire-inlaid with eight leaping carp and waves within a key fret border, inlaid two character mark to bases, diameter 24.5cm. Note: these plates, being unusually heavy, may well have been intended for use on board a trade ship, such as an East Indiaman.
