An exceptional Japanese mixed-metal sixteen-arhats sculptural bowl and cover, Meiji period, the cover applied with sixteen nut-brown patinated cast bronze portraits of arhats, one raising a gilt bronze figure of Kannon aloft, the silver interior applied with a pair of gold dragons, the silver lined iron alms bowl of squat circular form, the base centred with a gilt damascened lotus flowerhead with incised six character signature of Seijyu Miyata, height 10cm, diameter 11.9cm.
