An Apulian red figure pelike, 340-320 BC, painted in the circle of the Darius Painter, each side with a single figure of a running woman on a black ground, height 25.7cm, accompanied by an Oxford Authentication Ltd Thermoluminescence Analysis Report, Sample No. N113g84. Note: Arthur Dale Trendall (1909-1996) was an Australian art historian, classical archaeologist and leading authority on the identification of individual artists on ceramic vessels at various sites including Apulia. He described the Darius Painter as the most important painter of mythological scenes within the South Italian development.
