A Japanese Imari porcelain circular bowl, early 18th century, painted and gilt inside and out with flowers and leaves, diameter 22.7cm (rivet repaired), the underside inset with a silver presentation panel with engraved inscription 'Edward Barnard born the 23rd of May 1770, he came up like a flower and was cutt down'.
