TRAVEL & EXPLORATION. - John Hanning SPEKE. Journal of the Discovery of the Source of the Nile. Edinburgh & London: William Blackwood and Sons, 1863. 8vo (211 x 130mm.) Engraved portrait frontispiece, numerous plates and illustrations. (Lacking map, occasional spotting and browning, neat repaired tear to title-page.) Near contemporary cloth (extremities bumped and slightly frayed). Provenance: M. Spencer (signature dated 1871 to front-free endpaper). - And twenty more volumes, the majority on exploration in Africa (including Henry M. Stanley's 'In Darkest Africa', 1890, 2 vols., 8vo) (21).
