TREATY OF AMIENS. The Definitive Treaty of Peace, between His Britannick Majesty, and the French Republick, His Catholic Majesty and the Batavian Republick. London: A. Strahan, 1802. 4to (227 x 191mm.) 18pp. window-mounted disbound leaves, verso of title a hand-written 'List of Subjects'. (Missing pp.1-5, moderate spotting.) Disbound. Note: this Treaty signed at Amiens on 27th March 1802 led to a 12 months truce in the Napoleonic wars with France. There was a secret clause within the treaty which meant that Spain, much to their anger, ceded Trinidad to England. - And three more disbound articles (including 'A Further Report From the Committee of Secrecy Appointed to Enquire into the Conduct of Robert E. of Orford', 1742, 8vo) (4).
