BIBLE, In Latin. [Biblia ad vetustissima exemplaria nunc recens castigata]. Venice: Altobellus Salicatius for heirs of Nicolai Beuilacquae, 1574. 4to signed in 8s (211 x 148mm.) Several hundred woodcuts within text, historiated initials, head and tail-pieces. (Lacking title, preliminary and rear blanks, 2pp. of initial text [i + ii], lower margins stained throughout, especially Aaaa to rear, damp-stain from A to M4, some insect damage to upper margins). 17th century calf (spine lacking). Note: collates iii-x, A- Bbbb3, p.139 and pp.570-575 incorrectly numbered. Publishing details taken from colophon.
