A mahogany world time and tidal timepiece longcase clock, the single train artisan mechanism with deadbeat escapement, adjustable pallets and unusual type of maintaining power, the extraordinary 24-hour dial with world time and single centre hour hand with minutes aperture at left hand centre of dial plate, the outer dial showing various world cities and places, the inner dial with phases of the moon related to various United Kingdom towns, showing high tides at these locations, the high tide at Worthing shown by an automaton seascape panel to the arch, date aperture and inscribed 'Horatio Dennett' and dated '1856' to lower edge of dial, the plain mahogany case of slim proportions with arched hood, rectangular panelled trunk door and plain base, height 196.5cm, with original weight, pendulum and winding key (base distressed).
