LOT 1157
A George IV satinwood cased wheel barometer of slender proportions with silvered dials, hygrometer, mercury thermometer and bubble level, inscribed 'Thos Rubergall 24 Coventry St London', the case with ebony stringing and reeded surmount, height 95cm (some faults). Note: Thomas Rubergall was an eminent instrument maker, whose patrons included King George III and the Duke of Clarence. He worked from his London premises in Coventry Street between 1805 and 1854.
