A Meissen porcelain tankard with hinged tappit lid, second half 19th century, the cylindrical body painted with a view of Dresden from the bank of the River Elbe within high relief floral encrusted framing, painted birds and insects flanking the handle, the rim with elaborate gilded detail, the underside of the cover painted with an 18th century couple in a garden setting, the top with bird and branch finial, the gilt metal tappit with shell shaped thumbpiece, crossed swords in underglaze blue and gilt painted '10' to base, height 16.5cm (minor faults).
