An Arabian high grade gold jambia scabbard of typical form, the front with engraved foliate decoration beneath Arabic inscription and enamel flag, the reverse with presentation inscription 'From the Supreme Council of The Federation of Arab Emirates of the South to H.E. Sir William Luce, K.C.M.G., K.B.E. Governor & Commander-in-Chief', weight 531g, length 21cm. Provenance: this jambia was presented to Sir William Luce in 1959 during his roles as Governor of Aden and then as political resident in the Persian Gulf.
