A Japanese Satsuma earthenware vase by Kusube, Meiji period, of shouldered tapering form, one side painted with bijin and a child beneath a blossoming prunus, the reverse with two figures crossing a bridge in a mountainous landscape, all reserved against a blue ground with gilt overlaid decoration, iron red and gilt signature to base, height 30.5cm.
