A pre-Columbian Costa Rican Nicoya burnished brown pottery tripod alligator vessel, circa 1250-1520 AD, the large bulbous body incised with three stylized alligators, the three feet with internal rattles, height 25cm, width 26cm (some restoration). Provenance: Waldner Collection, Munich. Note: a similar example can be seen in 'Art of Costa Rica' by M. Sackler, 1986, page 199.
