FIRST WORLD WAR. - H.W. FAWCETT and G.W. HOOPER (editors). The Fighting at Jutland…. The Personal Experiences of Sixty Officers and Men of the British Fleet. Glasgow: Maclure, Macdonald & Co., [n.d. but circa 1920]. Signed by Admiral Lord Jellicoe and Admiral Lord Beatty in ink on the dedication page, 4to (251 x 190mm.) 10 tipped-in photogravure plates, 35 photographic plates, numerous maps and illustrations. (Browning to margins, occasional spotting, both inner joints cracked.) Contemporary morocco-backed blue cloth with buckram onlay to upper cover, t.e.g. (rubbing to extremities, spotting to front endpaper, both inner joints cracked). Note: Admiral of the Fleet John Jellicoe commanded the Grand Fleet at the Battle of Jutland in May 1916. Admiral of the Fleet David Beatty commanded the 1st Battlecruiser Squadron at Jutland and later he succeeded Admiral Jellicoe as the Commander-in-Chief of the Grand Fleet. Provenance: G.G. Borrett (ink signature to the half-title).
