SMITH, Robert. The Universal Dictionary For Taking Alive and Destroying Rats, and all Other Kinds of Four-Footed and Winged Vermin. London: printed for the Author, 1778. First edition, 8vo (177 x 109mm.) 6 engraved plates (4 folding). (Some browning, occasional spotting, small ink blots to preliminaries, names inscribed to preliminaries and rear leaf.) Contemporary mottled calf, five raised bands with red morocco lettering piece to the second compartment (bumped to extremities and surface wear to upper cover). Note: Robert Smith was the rat-catcher to Princess Amelia. Provenance: George Needle (name inscribed to preliminaries). - And twenty-one more leather-bound volumes (22).
