A Chinese Canton export lacquer folding fan, mid-19th century, the vari-coloured pair of guards and fourteen sticks decorated in gilt with figures and flowers on red, green, gilt and silvered grounds, supporting a paper panel, each side painted in gouache with figures in interior scenes, each figure with appliqué ivory facial detail and silk costume, length 29cm, within original fitted lacquer rectangular case with hinged lid and gilt decoration.
