A George III oak longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the silvered break arch dial inscribed 'Geo. Williams Bristol' to the arch above a painted automaton scene of a figure cutting down a tree with an axe, above Roman hour numerals and subsidiary seconds and date dials, the hood with moulded arch pediment and glazed door, the trunk with arched door, on a plain base and bracket feet, height 214cm, with pendulum and two weights (some faults).
