AUTOGRAPHS. An autograph album containing a 2pp. tipped-in folded letter from the novelist Henry Williamson addressed to his friend, the writer Anthony Armstrong, the letter contains five original and unpublished manuscript poems titled 'September 1940', ' The Beloved', 'Blackthorn', 'After Night Offensive' and 'Morning Rush-Hour' that contain the lyrical imagery of the natural world with suggestions of the darker forces 'that burn vagrant in my blood'. The letter describes the 'tears in these red eyes' caused by the writing of his latest work, the letter is tipped onto a leaf with an additional note by Williamson to Anthony Armstrong's daughter. The album also contains a mounted signed photograph of Margot Fonteyn, the signatures of Alan Brock, Raphael Sabatini and some others.
