A large late 19th/early 20th century Swiss automaton singing bird, perched within a gilt painted wirework cage, raised on a flared giltwood base with shell and foliate moulded band, on turned feet, height 54cm. Provenance: Christie's South Kensington, Mechanical Music, Tools and Technical Apparatus sale, 16 April 1998, Lot 170.
