LOT 1205
A finely cast bronze figure of a kneeling female servant, with verdigris patination, modelled offering in her raised hands a cylindrical vessel with a second at her knees, wearing a Tang style robe and high waisted apron, the facial features particularly well cast and her plaited hair folded onto a pair of upright cones, height 22.5cm. Note: many of the features of this figure would suggest its origins in the Tang dynasty, though whether from mainland China or any of its attribute nations is unclear. Although the figure is clearly old and once had a base (three small pins to underside), the lack of detailed provenance does not assist the precise dating of this piece.
