A Chinese Canton export tortoiseshell circular snuff box and cover, mid-19th century, finely carved in relief with village scenes of figures, pavilions and trees, the lid interior with incised inscription 'Captn John McCutcheon, China 1840', diameter 8.3cm (minor faults).
