MANNING, Owen, and William BRAY. The History and Antiquities of the County of Surrey; compiled From the Best and Most Authentic Historians, Valuable Records, and Manuscripts in the Public Offices and Libraries, and in Private Hands, with a Facsimile Copy of Domesday. London: printed for John White by John Nichols and Son, 1804-1814. 3 vols., folio (430 x 236mm.) 75 engraved plates (including 13 facsimile Domesday plates), 2 folding maps, 13 folding genealogical trees. (Moderate spotting, heavier to verso of plates, browning to margins.) Contemporary red morocco, gilt ruled, the spines in six compartments with raised bands, lettered to the second and fourth compartments, the others with repeating motif (rubbing to extremities, minor scuffing). Provenance: The West Horsley Place Collection.
