DUFFERIN, Lord. Letters from High Latitudes; being some account of a voyage in the Schooner Yacht 'Foam', 85 O.M to Iceland, Jan Mayen, & Spitzbergen, in 1856. London: John Murray, 1857. First edition, 8vo (200 x 124mm.) Frontispiece, a 1pp. a.l.s by Lord Dufferin to 'Lord Houghton' tipped-in at first blank, also a presentation signature in ink by the publisher John Murray to the second blank, 3 coloured maps, 2 folding, 1 folding graph, tipped-in cuttings to rear with Robert Milnes-Crewe signature. (One or two light finger-marks.) Near contemporary half-morocco, lettering piece to the spine, gilt design to the five raised bands. Note: the letter from Lord Dufferin is a request for a sample of Robert Milnes-Crewe's handwriting and signature. Provenance: Robert Milnes-Crewe (bookplate to the front pastedown); The West Horsley Place Collection.
