A pair of George III steel shoe buckles of typical curved form, length 7cm, with attached piece of lead and a label inscribed '...supposed to be the buckles worn by Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar and the bullet that killed him?', the reverse inscribed 'Obtained from a servant (a Game Keeper) of the late... Cardew, Ireland June 24th 1869 - by my son H.L. Pole', together with a copy of The Times, dated November 7, 1805.
