A Chinese hardwood writing desk, late 19th/early 20th century, the gallery back with carved and pierced bamboo and fruiting vine panel flanked by a cupboard and drawer to one side and pavilion form shelves to the other, the rectangular panelled writing surface above a pair of frieze drawers, carved in relief with dragons, above a pair of carved and pierced dragon supports, the front panel carved in low relief with cranes, the side panels fitted with four drawers to each side, all carved in relief with bamboo, prunus and other flowers, on claw and ball feet, height 134.5cm, width 86cm.
