A Japanese Satsuma earthenware vase by Ito Tozan, Meiji period, of stout ovoid form, finely painted and gilt with scattered bunches of cut and tied flowers, the neck with an irregular trailing collar filled with red chrysanthemums and green scrolling tendrils on a black ground, all beneath a red key fret rim, black painted signature and impressed seal mark to base, height 34cm (lacking cover).
