An impressive Victorian mahogany bracket clock with eight day triple fusee movement chiming quarters on eight bells or Westminster chime on four gongs and striking hours on a larger gong, the backplate numbered '2078', the foliate engraved brass arched dial with silvered 'Chime/Silent', 'Slow/Fast' and chime selection subsidiary dials above a silvered chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals, the case with carved floral and foliate decoration flanked by a pair of Corinthian columns and pierced fret panels to sides, on a rectangular plinth and bracket feet, height 71cm, with pendulum. Note: this clock was restored by John Knibb, descendant of Joseph Knibb, in 2014.
