A George III oak longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch brass break arch dial with silvered boss to arch engraved with an eagle, the silvered chapter ring with black Roman hours and outer Arabic minutes, inscribed 'Val"Downs Louth', the engraved matt centre with silvered subsidiary seconds and date aperture, cornered with cast and pierced foliate spandrels, the hood with moulded arch pediment and dentil frieze above a glazed door and fluted columns, the trunk with arched door and fluted cut corners, on a plain base and bracket feet, height 199cm, with pendulum and two weights.
