A half-leather bound album containing approximately 148 mounted photographs, late 19th century, various sizes from 5.5cm x 7.5cm to 19cm x 27cm, the majority captioned, including 'Table Bay with Transports', 'Boer Commando showing Armed Natives', 'Vineyard Hotel', 'Spionkop on the morning of the British retreat. British Dead stripped of their boots and plundered', 'Interior of No. 1 General Hospital, Wynberg', 'Unloading Wounded from Ambulance...', 'Damage done to forearm by shell splinters, x-rayed at No. 2 Hospital, Wynberg', 'Martini bullet in leg, x-rayed...' and 'Army Service Corps depot, Maitland Camp'.
