A late Victorian oak cased bracket clock with German eight day three train movement chiming on eight bells and four gongs and striking on a large gong with pull repeat mechanism, the backplate stamped 'W & H Sch' (Winterhalder & Hofmeier), the brass arched dial with chime/silent, pendulum regulation and chime selection subsidiary dials above a silvered chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals, framing a matt centre, all framed by cast and pierced gilt scroll spandrels, the case top carved with a mask and foliate scrolls, above further masks, herm columns and flowers, flanked by a pair of carved and pierced mask and scroll fret panels, on a breakfront base and bracket feet, height 57cm, with pendulum and winding key.
