A Japanese Shibayama inlaid and lacquered ivory folding fan, Meiji period, each guard inlaid in various hardstones and mother-of-pearl and gilt lacquered with birds and insects about bamboo, fruiting peach branches, shrubs and flowers, the eighteen sticks gilt lacquered to both sides with scenes of birds and fruiting branches, length 40.5cm (some losses and replaced paper panel).
