A Chinese Canton famille rose porcelain vase, mid-19th century, the shouldered tapering body with flared neck, typically painted with panels of figures, birds, butterflies and flowers against a gilt ground filled with flowers, tendrils and butterflies, the shoulder applied with two pairs of gilt chilong beneath a pair of Buddhistic lion and cub handles, height 64cm (hairline star crack to base).
