LOT 822
A late 18th century Scottish officer's basket hilted broadsword with straight double edged blade, length 84cm (areas of rust), forged basket hilt incorporating two crowned thistles within circles, wire bound polished hardwood grip (wormed), part-globular pommel with thistle terminal, in the upper section of its leather scabbard. Note: reputedly carried by an officer serving in the Seaforth Highlanders. Provenance: from the estate of the late Alistair Morris.
