A Sunderland lustre Crimean War commemorative jug, mid-19th century, printed in black and enamelled, one side with a pseudo armorial, titled 'Crimea' beneath the inscription 'may they ever be united', the other side with a variant of the sailor's return, inscribed 'the token, or Jack's safe return to his true love ...', all surrounded by pink lustre squiggles and banding, height 17cm, together with a similar 'The Sailor's Farewell' jug, the reverse inscribed with verse 'England England glorious name ...', height 16.4cm (minor faults).
