STEVENSON, Alan. Biographical Sketch of the late Robert Stevenson… Read at the Royal Society of Edinburgh, at the Meeting of 17th February 1851, and now printed with a few additions. Edinburgh: W. Blackwood and Sons, 1861. 4to (224 x 166mm.) Engraved frontispiece, 1 engraved plate. (Light browning, occasional light spotting.) Original cloth blocked in gilt (extremities lightly bumped and scuffed, spine faded, slightly soiled). Provenance: Sir Hew Dalrymple Bart (inscribed 'Sir Hew Dalrymple Bart with Mes Stevenson's Compts' to front-free endpaper); from the estate of the late Michael Gilkes FRCS, FRCOphth., FRGS.
